Elizabeth’s BioBlog

My name is Elizabeth Gutierrez and I am currently a sophomore at the Industrial Biotechnology Program at RUM. I love biology and studying the small, but important, details that make up living organisms. When I’m not immersed in books and papers, I love being around the people that are most important to me and trying to make them happy. I can often break out in song and spontaneous laughter. One of my big passions in life is mentoring young girls into becoming a generation of honorable and hard-working women. I plan to continue post-graduate studies and pursue a PhD even though I am still considering which field I will like to follow. The experiences that I will have these next semesters at BioMINDS will definetely have a huge impact on my academic life. I see it as an opportunity to grow exponentially as a student and as a scientist. It is a catapult to bigger and greater things that will mark the next generation of undergrad research.
